The practitioner is outnumbered, but though he is, the practitioner has a plan of action which will defeat his numerically superior enemies. Of course, during that exact time, he will be unable to defeat them because he is vastly outnumbered, but there will be a time when his enemies will become few. 

That is the perfect opportunity and time to conduct a treacherous attack which should surprise the remainder of his enemies.

Employment of “deceptive attacks” is useful, especially when combined with treacherous means, in order to defeat the enemy.
